Art in the Open at Mosman

It's been a long time since posts. Been very busy
trying to pass a graduate certificate of
maths..HO HUM (at the Catholic
University)....need to teach maths as art
teaching positions are like the proverbial "hens
teeth!!" Got to do a day at Middle Head artists
colony on the beautiful Sydney harbour. I did
portraits using "line trace monotype" Need not
have worried about "customers" (the sign
read "free portraits, victims required!"). For
six and a half hours had a long line of boys and
girls all dying to be imortalised! A fun day of
drawing and I even got payed for my efforts. It
was just great to be doing something
vaguely "arty" again.

Fire at Newport Artworks

It is with great sadness I announce that the
fantastic Art gallery "Newport Artworks" has been
destroyed by fire. The works of many artists were
lost in this tragedy. I hope that all and sundry
get behind the owners Gemma and Gary who have
always been so supportive to emerging talent.
They are opening a new gallery just a few doors
up from the old one and I'm sure with the right
support it will be just as good if not better
than the old one !!!!

Highly commended in Waverly Woollahra

You can view my work "Notice Buddha" in the
Recent Works Album. This mixed media work has the
look of a religious icon and is housed in an old
notice board that once lived on the wall of the
old East Sydney Technical College bakery. The
text is hand engraved on the glass. The image
itself is gold gouache, water colour, pastel,
pencil and ink. This work is currently for sale
through Newport Artworks.

Illustrated childrens story - The City Zoo

Please go to links page of my site and click on
the link titled "The City Zoo". It's the feature
book on the Bab Book website. This is an animated
story I wrote and illustrated back in 1996 (before
I attended art school). Each picture is animated
and although the "art" is a bit naive, it's still
cute!
